Course Introduction
ITEC diploma for Beauty Specialists aims to equip the student with the necessary skills in communicating with the customer, performing treatments within the industry time limit, planning and marketing strategies. This course aims to provide basic knowledge in the human body structures and functions. And diseases and disorders that contradicts treatments and develop his / her personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance as a beauty therapist.

Course Content:
Anatomy & Physiology:
- Lymphatic System, Skeletal System, Muscular System, Skin, Vascular System, Professional ethics, First aid, Hygiene & sterilization, Client handling, Business studies
Beauty:
- Skin Diagnosis – full facial treatment for specific skin types
- Handling adverse reactions & identify contraindications to facial
- Skin care, facial massage and eye treatment
- Make-up techniques – corrective make-up & make up for special occasions
- Manicure & pedicure
- Waxing
- Use of different electrical devices (i.e. magnifying lens & steamer) for the different treatments
- After treatment follow up
- Efficient preparation of workplace
- Client assessment & consultation
- Proper hygiene & professional image

Professional Conduct & Business Awareness:

Course Type: Full-time or Part Time
Course Delivery Mode: Theory lectures, Case Study and Practical sessions
Course Duration: 300 hours
Full Time: 8 weeks*
8 hours lesson per day/5 days per week / 9am to 6pm (Full day)
Part-Time: 34 weeks*
3 hours lesson per day /3 days per week / 7pm to 10pm (Evening class)
Admission Requirements
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age with one-year industrial experience and proficiency in English/Chinese and possess a keen interest in beauty and wellness.
GCE ‘N’ Level qualification and above for local students. International students will be assessed based on the equivalent of GCE ‘N’ Level. However, it is the discretion of the school, and the adult learners’ experience will be a consideration for admission to this course.
Assessment Methodology: Formative and Summative Assessments
Passing Requirement:
Case Study: Pass or Refer
Theory x 3 paper: A&P – minimum 50%, Holistic Massage – minimum 60%, Professional ethics – minimum 60%
Practical – minimum 60%
Graduation Requirements
Student must submit 5 case studies and pass 3 theory papers and 1 practical assessment
Local students must achieve an attendance of 75%, and international students must complete attendance of 95% of the full course. Upon meeting all graduation requirements, you will be awarded a Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage from ITEC International.
